Stampriet to Gochas
Stampriet itself has nothing of interest to drivers except a small fuel station – useful should you be running low – and Gochas likewise, but the C15 road between the two small towns makes an interesting alternative to the B1 if you're driving south from one of the above lodges. Running parallel to the Auob River, it passes through a fertile stretch of farmland. Perhaps of greatest interest, though, are the ground squirrels that inhabit the banks lining the road; it's a great place to stop and watch these intriguing animals as they go about their daily routines. From Gochas, it is a straight drive on the C18, a good, empty road, to rejoin the B1 near Gibeon.
