Cañon Roadhouse is run by the same partners as Cañon Lodge, and is also on land that forms part of the Gondwana Reserve. It is further north, signposted about 17km off the C12 at near Holoog (a large dot on the map, but a tiny settlement), along the D601.

If the name is a little off-putting, think of this as a comfortable roadside inn and you'll be near the mark. Its accommodation is set at the back, around a quiet, cactus-planted courtyard. Comfortable, modern rooms with en-suite bathrooms show the hand of a thoughtful designer, with décor picking out the rich reds and creams of the surrounding landscape. The campsite at the back has space for six pitches, and there is a swimming pool for guest use.

Many visitors are drawn here as if to an oasis by the reliable fuel station, and find themselves staying for a drink on the front terrace, or something to eat in the restaurant, which is adorned with old farm implements and related artefacts. The à la carte menu features light lunches in the N$20–45 range, or several more substantial dishes, including game. Activities are as for Cañon Lodge, above.
