Mazambala opened in June '97, but closed for a while. Now it's back, the closest lodge to the main road. Its turn-off, a few kilometres east of the Kongola Bridge, leads about 4km south, along a dirt road. The lodge has a bar and dining area, and four simple thatched chalets. Each is small with netting windows, twin beds, nice fabrics, and an en-suite shower and toilet. Candles and a torch are provided, as there's no electricity anywhere. It also has several private campsites.
