Built, owned and run by the team responsible for Impalila Island Lodge Susuwe was constructed with impressive faith at a time of great uncertainty over the Caprivi's future for tourism. It's certainly the area's best lodge. Many fly in to Susuwe, but if you're driving then turn south at the Kongola filling station, and after 6km take a right, signposted to Kubunyana Camp. After 4km of sandy track, you'll have to leave your vehicle at Kubunyana and transfer by boat to the lodge.

Susuwe has six large brick-and-thatch chalets complete with en-suite bathroom, bedroom and lounge. The canopied beds have mosquito nets, and electricity to power ceiling fans and even hairdryers. Outside each the wooden veranda contains a tiny private plunge pool.

Activities include game drives, night drives, boating trips, birding walks and picnics in the bush.
