On the corner of Johann Albrecht and John Meinert streets, a short uphill walk from town, this large and rather scruffy backpackers' lodge has been the capital's favourite for younger independent travellers for quite a while – despite its size and noisy dorms. Visitors have use of a small pool, pool table, washing machines, internet access, and crockery/cutlery in the kitchen. There's secure parking, too. As you might expect, it acts as agent for several cheap car-hire companies, and has its own travel shop.
