Right next door to Portuga's restaurant, the secure entrance to Kubata Lodge leads through a cool passage between twin ranks of thatched rooms. The strong Portuguese influence here is blended with a hint of Africa, with tiled floors, ornate heavy doors and wildlife printed bedcovers. Rooms are quite dark, but are well appointed, with a TV, fan, fridge/minibar, and coffee and tea; luxury rooms have an extra couch, which will convert into a double bed.

Beyond the rooms, sun loungers are set around a small pool, and there's a breakfast area with bar. There is no hint of personality about the place, but it's efficiently run and in a convenient location for restaurants and the airport.
