Namibia Travel Guide

Pensions & B&B's

The proliferation of pensions and guesthouses in recent years has spawned plenty of lookalike establishments each catering for the same market. Most are situated in the suburban areas surrounding Windhoek. The more centrally located are mostly clustered in the area just to the west of Independence Avenue (helpfully known as West Windhoek), within a reasonable walking distance of shops and other facilities. One of the most popular areas for visitors is to the northeast, incorporating Eros and Klein Windhoek. Here, in addition to plenty of accommodation, there is a good choice of restaurants and bars. In Olympia, to the southeast of the city, pensions are relatively scarce. Those that are here are usually quiet, often with views over the rolling hills to the south. Then to the southwest are the open spaces of Pioneers Park.

Unless otherwise stated, all rooms have en-suite shower and toilet facilities.
