Sundown Lodge

(11 rooms) PO Box 5378, Windhoek; tel: 061 232566; fax: 061 232541; email: sundown@iafrica.com.na
Opened in the mid-90s, and run by Bob and Silke Sinclair, Sundown Lodge is a purpose-built stopover, providing a basic night's rest in attractive surroundings near Windhoek. It is well signposted just off the main B1, about a 25km drive north of the city, on the D1474. (Though this has been omitted from some maps, it's easy to find as it's right by the police roadblock.)

Expect your room to have its own telephone/desk, fridge, kettle and tea/coffee facilities, en-suite toilet and shower, and a small patio for sitting outside. Lunch and dinner are available at N$45 and N$60 respectively; alternatively, there are braai facilities. Guests are welcome to use the swimming pool with adjacent bar, or to explore the surrounding bush. Transfers to Windhoek International Airport cost N$280 per trip.
